My daughter, Lelia, was four years old when she lost her life to brain cancer in 2017. The year she spent fighting for her life was filled with heartache and dread but my family also found itself on the receiving end of bottomless compassion and love on an unimaginably grand scale. Lelia lost her hair for a cure she didn’t get. I’m shaving mine to raise money in an effort to be on the giving side of compassion in the dark world of cancer and maybe if we’re lucky enough, play a small part in tipping the scales in the battle against childhood cancer.
Due to fiery protest from with within my home (9 and 11 year old boys) my good friend, AJ Leimenstoll, the man who brought this fund raiser to my attention, will be my stunt double in the barber chair shaving his head in honor of Lelia’s life. Big thanks to you, AJ.
